At SID 2026, the Society for Information Display’s annual exhibition that recently
opened in Los Angeles, United States, TCL CSOT showcased a range of cutting-edge
display technologies. Among them, a glass-based OLED display designed for XR
applications drew particular attention for achieving the highest pixel density in the
world.
This product measures 2.24 inches and adopts a Real RGB pixel arrangement, with a
resolution of 2600 × 2784 and a pixel density as high as 1700 PPI, setting a new
global record among comparable glass-based OLED displays.
As a result, image fineness is significantly improved and the grainy effect is nearly
eliminated. Combined with an ultra-large field of view (FOV) and excellent image
quality, the display could point to a new direction for mixed reality (MR) display
technology.
In addition, TCL CSOT also presented a 0.28-inch silicon-based Micro LED display
with a pixel density of 5131 PPI. It achieves full color on a single panel, is only about
the size of a fingernail, and combines ultra-high pixel density with low power
consumption, offering a lightweight and high-performance solution for next-
generation augmented reality (AR) glasses.
TCL CSOT has reportedly completed a full technology lineup in the XR field
covering LCD, OLED, and Micro LED. The two record-setting products shown this
time correspond to the two mainstream technical routes of MR headsets and AR
glasses, fully demonstrating the company’s technological reserves and innovative
capabilities across different application scenarios.
